3.OA.7 – The Fast and the Fluent (Multiply and Divide)

Regal Tutors Owl

Yo. Thanks for picking up this packet for Common Core standard 3.OA.7.

Around here, it’s all about fluency. Fluently multiply and divide within 100 — using any strategy you’ve got under the hood: relationships between multiplication and division, properties of operations, or flat-out muscle memory.

Every kid in your class? They’re gonna know those products of two one-digit numbers by heart. No exceptions.

What’s in the Packet:

  1. Multiplication drill pages (0 to 10)
  2. Division drill pages (1 to 10)
  3. A standardized test for multiplication and division

How I Ran This in My Classroom:

  • I grabbed myself a monthly bill organizer. Labeled each slot: x0, x1, x2 — all the way up.
  • Ran copies of the drill pages on scratch paper like the resourceful street racer I am. Cut those in half, dropped ‘em in the organizer.
  • I put up a chart on the wall — names down one side, drills across the top. Marker lived in the drawer of that organizer, ready for action.
  • Every day, we ran math drills like a pit crew. I called up x0, then x1, x2 — you know the drill. They grabbed their papers, sat down, papers face down. When I said go — they flipped ‘em and had one minute to crush those facts.
  • Kids who finished all their multiplication and division drills? They leveled up. Became my official paper graders. No one respects speed like a kid with facts under pressure.
  • And listen — this wasn’t just for math. I ran this system for measurement, geometry, even parts of speech. You’ll find those packets in my online store too, if you wanna build your own crew.
  • Used the standardized test page as a regular assessment — got my students prepped for those district multiple-choice tests coming at us like a hairpin turn.

Bottom line — this packet’s about building fluency, building confidence, and building your classroom family. ‘Cause in this crew, we ride together, we learn together. Always.

Let’s ride.
